Relationship Stress
Relationships are not equal. But they work when there is equivalence. Understanding and accepting the distinction between equal and equivalent can be very important in skillfully tending to our relationship responsibilities. A basic instruction of meditation is “have no opinions for or against anything”. Through this letting go of opinion, things take on an equivalency and stress decreases. Stress in relationships is often best responded to by cultivating a composure which is rooted in letting go, sometimes called cessation. Of course this assumes that the relationship is salvageable; some simply are not and in those cases meditation can help with the stress of letting go of the relationship itself.
